Rihanna is probably Barbados‘ most popular personality. Already at the age of 17 she had her first hit single with “Pon De Replay”. In the following years she celebrated numerous number one hits such as the song “Umbrella”, which features Jay-Z. In the United States as well as in Canada, Australia, UK and Germany it occupied the top chart position for several weeks.
The music of the 21-year-old is a rare mix of R&B, Reggae and Pop. Even the artists which she considers as a great influence origin from many different music styles: Mariah Carey, Bob Marley, Alicia Keys, Gwen Stefani and Celine Dion among others.
Rihanna’s fourth record “Rated R” was released in November 2009. On May 2nd, 2010 she will present the songs from her new album as well as her greatest hits live on stage at O2 World.
